El Cid Castilla Beach
Activities
  • Golf: El Cid Golf and Country Club has an impressive 18-hole course, which is complemented by the addition of the new Lee Trevino nine, for a total of 27 championship holes. The Marina Nine, as the course is called, was designed by Lee Trevino using water on seven of the nine holes. This beautiful course is situated in the heart of the Golden Zone and is surrounded by the El Cid Marina. These courses are considered by many as two of the top courses in all of Mexico. The El Cid Golf and Country Club has played host to many international golf events and is situated on a biological reserve that is home to deer, turtles, fish, exotic birds, and crocodiles in a natural setting. Known for its excellent views and for its lakes, the course is challenging to all skill levels.
  • Cid's Kids Club: The Kids Club is designed and equipped especially for young children ages 4 to 12, and includes activities programs that will instruct and entertain your little ones and maximize their vacation fun, too!
  • Beach: The beach at the resort is long and wide and one of the best in Mazatlan - perfect for swimming, with calm surf and warm waters. The beach is protected by the three islands out in the bay, assuring calmer surf. Enjoy sunbathing, strolling along the beach, jogging, brilliant sunsets, and soft starry nights.
  • Pools: The large free-form pool features activities, waterfalls, in-water lounge chairs, and swim-up bar.

  • Fitness Center: 5,000 square-foot of modern equipment graces the fitness center and offers guests access to cardiovascular equipment, Cybex Circuit training equipment, free weights, treadmills, lifecycles, and stair masters. Sign up for yoga and meditation, tai chi, aerobics, water aerobics, and step aerobics.
  • Fishing: The quality and thrill of great sport fishing is found in Mazatlan. Bottom fishing is great for beginners or kids, with light tackle casting or trolling, going after snapper, grouper, and sea bass. Catch mahi-mahi, tuna, swordfish, and blue, black, and stripped marlin. One excursion and you're forever hooked on Mazatlan fishing!
  • Tennis and Raquet Sports: In the El Cid Mega complex, there are nine clay and laykold tennis courts. Ball machines, video analysis and rental rackets are also available. There are even USPTR tennis pros on hand for lessons or matches. In addition, the El Cid Tennis Academy provides half-day to four-day camps and clinics from November to May. There are also racquetball and squash courts available at no charge.

If you've held off buying that treasure, this is the place to do it.
  • Exploration and Site Seeing: Mazatlan is called the Pearl of the Pacific, with a long and colorful history of Spanish Galleons, conquistadors, and legends of buried pirate treasure. Old Mazatlan is a treat for those longing to see Old Mexico and peer into her romantic past. The Angela Peralto Theatre and the central plaza take you back to a time of nobility and old world culture. The central Cathedral reminds you of life in old Colonial Mexico. A half-day city tour will let you see it all. Take a bay cruise and watch the entire shrimp fleet come in. See seals and marine life. Enjoy a day long mountain tour to the Sierra Madre and see Copala, a 500 year old mining village. Tour the cottage industries of pottery and furniture making in Concordia in the foothills. Take a jungle river cruise through the estuaries and waterways and thick lowland vegetation, or go deep-sea fishing in world class waters. Dance, eat, and party at an authentic Mexican fiesta. Cruise to a remote island beach and snorkel, surf or just play in the water.
